North American Bengali Conference 2023 held in New Jersey

The North American Bengali Conference 2023 (NABC) was held from June 30 to July 2 at Atlantic City in New Jersey.

Around 5,000 people attended the 3-day event, most of them hailing from Bengal, India, and Bangladesh. Different events were organized to deliver pro-homeland narratives. At the beginning of cultural event, Indian National Anthem was played at the main hall on July 1.

A Torch rally and Mangal Shovajatra group walk from Boardwalk Corner to Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall was held on June 30. The event also included a display of Indian and Bangladesh cultural ties in a segment where around 100 people participated.

The program also included a Tribute to Pandit Birju Maharaj to show cultural diversity and richness of India on July 1. A play “Wings of Fire” based on India’s late President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was performed July 2.

Videos were played showing development and harmony in Jammu and Kashmir by the government and around 2,000 people watched that segment.
Videos were also shown on the atrocities committed by the Pakistan army during the 1971 war.
