Ritesh Shah Charitable Pharmacy (RSCharityPharmacy.org) a non-profit organization based in Freehold, NJ, held its 2nd annual gala June 30, 2023. The title and theme was,”We Are Already Making a Difference Gala!”

The sold-out event took place at 618 Restaurant in Freehold, where supporters of the pharmacy gathered to celebrate its impactful contributions and open their wallets to raise $75,000, organizers said in a press release.

In addition, RSCP said the New Jersey FY2024 budget has allocated a significant amount of $100,000 to support the first of its kind pharmacy in state dedicated to providing essential healthcare services to underserved communities. The allocation demonstrates the state’s recognition of RSCP’s significant impact on the lives of those in need, organizers said, adding that this funding will enable the pharmacy to expand its reach, provide essential medications, and deliver critical healthcare services to the underprivileged.

“We are overwhelmed by the tremendous support and enthusiasm shown at our 2nd Annual Gala,” Ritesh Shah, founder of Ritesh Shah Charitable Pharmacy, is quoted saying in the press release. “The event serves as a testament to our shared commitment to improving healthcare access for those in need. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our supporters, volunteers, and sponsors who continue to make a lasting difference in our community,” Shah added.

Speakers at the gala included Cathleen Bennett of the NJ Hospital Association, and County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago “who delivered inspiring addresses on the importance of accessible healthcare for all individuals, regardless of their socio-economic background,” the press release said.

The Gala included a touching presentation to Joseph Howe, Ed.D., Superintendent of Schools in Freehold Borough and pharmacy Board Member. Ritesh Shah presented him with a plaque to unveil “Ritesh Shah Charitable Pharmacy’s Thyroid Resource Center,” which is in loving memory of his late father, David E. Howe.

New Jersey State Senators Vin Gopal and Declan O’Scanlon were unable to attend but expressed their gratitude and support for the RSCP and its mission. They also shared the news that the New Jersey State had allocated $100,000 to the RSCP.

As the night unfolded, guests enjoyed dinner, cocktails, dessert and, silent auction, and raffle prizes. Standup comedian  Mike Marino brought laughter and entertainment to the evening with his performance.

The RSCP’s Nicole Donadio gave a “Year in Review” which took a look back at the accomplishments of the pharmacy such as filling 2,500 prescriptions to patients in need, which saved patients over $250,000, the press release said.
