Long Island Indo American Lions Club holds singing competition

The Long Island Indo American Lions Club held a Musical Extravaganza Singing Competition on Sunday December 3, 2023 at Tyson Center in Floral Park. Members and nonmembers gathered to pack the auditorium as participants performed songs from different Bollywood eras.

The event was conceived by Shyam Gajwani, president of the Club, and was put together with the help of Program Coordinator Jignesh Shah. The Program was well managed and organized by the team Anju Sharma, Sanju Sharma, Sital Shah and Indu Gajwani, a press release from the Club said.

Purnima Desai, Manik Malhotra and Sai Sagar Patnaik, each of whom is known to have great knowledge of music, were appointed the judges.

Shreya Sanghavani was declared the winner; the 2nd Prize went to Danzel Tarkan; and the 3rd prize to  Divyesh Tripathi. Fourth in place was Sukhpreet Kholi; and the 5th Prize went to Ajit Shah. All the participants were awarded participation certificates and a gift as a token.

Organizers thanked sponsors Kanak Golia, Navin Shah & Madhu Pareek of NAVIKA, Anil Shah, Kelly and Mansi Lalwani, and Atul Pareek.

They also praised team members and volunteers Yogini Oza, Dr. Gobind Oza, Nimesh Shah, Shyam & Madhu Agarwal, Pradeep Gosalia, Shila Shah and Lata Atmarani.
