Indo-American Lions Club of Long Island, NY held a food drive and donated 500lbs of food and a check to Mary Brennan INN (Interfaith Nutrition Network) in Hempstead, NY, Nov. 10, 2020.

The Long Island Indo American Lions Club, which says its goal is to serve the community, held their annual food and clothes drive on Nov. 10, 2020. A monetary donation was also made to Mary Brennan INN (Interfaith Nutrition Network) in Hempstead, NY.

With the help of club members, their friends and families, the club was able to collect around 500lbs of non-perishable food, 15 boxes of cloths as well as $2,500. The check was presented to Cynthia, director of the Mary Brennan Inn.

According to a press release, the club and its members try to come together at every opportunity in fund raising and contributions towards the betterment of the community.

Long Island Indo American Lions Club President Indu Gajwani, Vice President Rita Shah, Secretary Bunty Shah, Event Chair Anju Sharma, Club Admin Vandana Kumar, and members Rachna Shahdadpuri, Saroj Mukhi and Samson Christian were also present at the donation drive.

Past District Governor Jose Pastrana also attended.
