FISANA seniors celebrate 22nd anniversary at Diwali gala

The Federation of Indo-American Seniors’ Associations of North America, FISANA, held the organization’s 22nd Anniversary Gala Diwali Celebration at Royal Albert’s Palace in Fords, New Jersey, November 25, 2023.

FISANA is considered the “largest Umbrella Organization of Seniors in North America where 14,000 members are registered,” a press release said.

More than 600 people participated in this event, enjoying melodious music by Indian Idol artist Chaturvedi and other well- known singers promoted by Natavar Thakkar of Roshni Production. The Musical Orchestra was sponsored by Kunal Joshi who paid for the entire musical expanses, and he was recognized with a plaque.

President Bharat Rana and Chairman Dipak Shah along with the  Executive Committee of 48 members worked hard to make the event a success.
Dignitaries who attended the event included Dr. H.K. Shah of World Vegan Vision; Assemblywoman Linda Carter; Councilmen Ajay Patil and Viru Patel: BOE Commissioner Biral Patel; Vice Chairmen Mukund Thaker, and Subhash Doshi as well as newly appointed Piyush Patel; Bhagvatsinh Parmar as a new member of the Board of Directors with Aatish Shah, Sanjay Gupta, Dhiren Amin of IBA; Dr. Jai of UBlood, and many more community leaders.

A Ganesh Stuthi opened up the celebrations. Rana thanked Lata and Atul Shah for their Generous contributions and welcomed all the guests.

Dr. Tushar Patel emceed the Program. He called some of the dignitaries and executive committee members to the stage for Diya Pragatya and program began with a Sai Bhajan.

All Association Presidents were brought on stage to present the plaques to the recipients.

A number of women volunteers helped guide the guests and sell the raffle tickets.
Dr. Tushar Patel read the proclamation from Senator Vin Gopal and also the messages from Government of India Vice Chairman of National Commission of Minorities. Kersi Debu.

Attendees enjoy appetizers as well as a 12-course lunch, the press release said, including mouth-watering desserts like hot jalebis.

Special thanks went to the Souvenir Core Committee, which brought out a colorful and informative publication which was launched by the dignitaries. It contained memories of FISANA activities and the businesses who support the organization.
