Having played Lord Krishna in his home production, OMG—Oh My God! in 2012, Akshay Kumar has now delighted fans by sharing new posters of the sequel, OMG 2, which feature close-up looks of him as Lord Shiva and also of co-star Pankaj Tripathi, who plays the counterpart of Paresh Rawal in the original.

In OMG 2, directed and written by Amit Rai (who had last directed the much-applauded Road to Sangam in 2010), Akshay presents a striking portrayal of the deity, complete with long hair, blue paint on his neck, kohl-studded eyes and ash smeared on his forehead. The posters also introduce Pankaj Tripathi’s character, depicted with folded hands amidst a crowd, exuding simplicity in a shirt and blue jacket.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the film’s teaser, expected to drop soon. Akshay, sharing the poster, noted, “Bas kuch dino mein (coming in a few days) OMG 2 in theatres on August 11. Teaser drops soon.” The film clashes with Gadar 2 in Independence Day week. It also stars Arun Govil as Lord Ram, Yami Gautam and Govind Namdeo.

OMG—Oh My God! (2012) was a super-hit that, in terms of Return on Investment (RoI), was the biggest hit of that year, though the highest grosser was Ek Tha Tiger. It showed how blind faith in God could be counterproductive and thus presented a social mesaage.
