US Senator to hold remote press conference with Indian media on eve of Modi visit

United States Senator Mark R. Warner (D-VA), co-chair of the Senate India Caucus and chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, announced he will hold a remote media availability June 20, 2023, at 10 am Eastern Daylight Time, with Indian and Indian-American press on the eve of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrival in the country June 21, for the state visit.

The remote media availability will be held via phone call to allow all media, local and international, to participate, Warner’s office said.

The Senator plans to highlight the importance of continuing to strengthen and invest in the U.S.-India relationship, especially in the areas of defense, research & development, cyber capabilities, emerging technologies, bilateral trade, and clean energy.

Sen. Warner will touch on legislation he plans to introduce to strengthen the defense partnership with India “and to reaffirm the strong and long-standing partnership between the two nations,” the announcement said.
