You can say it marks Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback after five years (almost) as an actor, and is his fourth film with Deepika Padukone too. Pathaan also marks his return to the Yash Raj Films camp after an association that began 3 decades ago with Darr (1993).

Also featuring John Abraham (and Salman Khan in a cameo as Tiger), the espionage drama Pathaan is among the most awaited films of today. Yash Raj Films has revealed the release date of this high-octane spy thriller, directed by Siddharth Anand, to be January 25, 2023 (Republic Day eve) through a specially shot date announcement video that has no film footage whatsoever.

The video, which is breaking the internet, teases a glimpse of SRK’s much-discussed Pathaan look, adding to the thirst of his fans wanting to see his new avatar. It features his two co-stars as well. The announcement video has been directed by Siddharth himself and it also revealed that the action spectacle will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu!

Vishal-Shekhar score the music—incidentally, this is some kind of a record too, as all the three SRK-Deepika Padukone films to date—Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express and Happy New Year (all three were SRK home productions, and Deepika made her debut with the first) have also had their music.

Interestingly, two other big films were slated for January 26—Fighter starring Hrithik Roshan and again Deepika Padukone with Anil Kapoor, and Tehran with John Abraham. But this is current info, before the Pathaan announcement, and we do not think director Siddharth Anand (who also directs Fighter), Deepika Padukone or John Abraham would like to compete with themselves!
