Online meeting for older singles celebrates Holi with colors

MySangi, is a volunteer-based not for profit organization in NewJersey focused on creating a support system for people 50 and older, (excluding matchmaking) held its second virtual event of 2021 on Sunday, March 28, via Zoom.

The theme of the event was ‘Let us celebrate Holi with COLORS’.

President and Founder of MySangi Rajul Shah, wished and thanked all those present, mainly from tristate area, for being on the Zoom meeting. She specially welcomed and thanked those joining in for the first time from coast to coast and from India.

Member, Board of Advisors of MySangi Dipak Shah, who is also chairman of FISANA (Federation of Indo-American Seniors Association of North America), Dr Kanan Patrawalla, vice president, and Jayu Parikh, program coordinator participated and facilitated the program respectively.

The team members and participants dressed in bold colors complimenting colorful backdrops in their homes and shared their perception of Holi, their favorite colors in nature and in food and the special joy they get out of this time of transition from winter to spring.

An entertainment segment followed. Ila Shah, secretary of MySangi introduced guest artist Rupa Gandhi, a well-known versatile singer in the community and a music teacher who sang several songs associated with Holi that everyone enjoyed.

MySangi was established in 2016, and is run by a team of about dozen likeminded volunteers are actively supporting and coordinating the activities.
