Ohmkara’s “Gamtilu Gujarat” tour with poet Ankit Trivedi, through New Jersey, other states, a great success

As part of the 10th year of the founding of Ohmkara, a US-based entertainment group, and  Gujarat Divas celebrations in the USA, Ohmkara once again organized and hosted a successful Gujarati Kavya and Sugam Sangeet – Gamtilu Gujarat from April 27 to May 12, 2024, in five states in the USA.

Thousands came and enjoyed the musical and literature/humor concerts which were held in Red Bank, Edison, Toms River, NJ, Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA, Kansas City, and Chicago, a press release from Ohmkara said.

Pinakin Pathak of Ohmkara and his team planned the musical concert in the US with a mission is to unite people through music and the culture of Gujarat, promote Indian culture, heritage and music without any political, personal or religious interest or promotion, the company said.

Team Ohmkara and Ankit Trivedi received a state proclamation from the New Jersey State Senator Vin Gopal which was presented by Red Bank Mayor Billy Portman on April 27, 2024, at Ritesh Shah Charitable Pharmacy annual Gala event in Red Bank for their contributions in promoting language, art and Indian culture in the USA.

Through the theme of “Gamtilu Gujarat” with Trivedi who headlines the program Swarotsav in India and their wonderful & talented team of singers and musicians, attendees enjoyed more than three hours of entertainment.

The high-energy Gujarati music and literature concert was being featured for the sixth time by Ohmkara. These concerts feature the most famous and popular songs from the seven decades of Gujarati and Hindi languages. The versatile Gujarati music legend late Avinash Vyas’s evergreen and famous songs were performed along with famous songs of the two living legends of Gujarati music and “Bhishma Pitamah” Gaurang Vyas and Purushottam Upadhyay were the highlights of the evening.

The young, talented and dynamic singer Dhruvish Shah and veteran singer Divyang Anjaria, along with talented musicians Ritesh Upadhyay, Hitesh Master, Richard Christian and Gurinder Negi performed some old famous and some new religious, romantic and folk numbers like “Maniyaro te halu halu”, “Tane jata joi pangat ni vate”, “Pankhida ne aa pinjaru”, “Chhel Chhabilo Gujarai”, “Tu Garam masaledar khati meethi vanagi”, “Dhuni re dhakhavi” and garba-raas melodies with more than 50 original Gujarati songs and some of the famous Hindi Songs performed for a house-full audience in several American cities.

Kavi Ankit Trivedi’s versatility, his command of the  Gujarati language, and his oratory, were on display at the events. He kept the audience engaged for hours with his humor and masterclass poetry, responding to pleas for encores from the audience, and continuous applause.
