Media and franchising professional honored during International Women’s Day celebrations

Seema Govil, a media and franchising professional, was honored as one of the top 20 Global Women of Excellence during the 12^th Congressional International Women’s Day celebrations on March 6, 2024, at the Capitol Hill in Washington DC.

The award was presented to Govil by United States Congressman Danny K. Davis, alongside Congressmen Jonathan Jackson, Raja Krishnamoorthi, Shri Thanedar, and President of American Multiethnic Coalition Dr. Vijay Prabhakar. Govil received the award in recognition of “her inspiring leadership and outstanding achievements to excel,” along with a medal signed by Davis.

In a press statement, Govil, co-president, India Franchise Council, and founder and CEO, Cosmo City Media, a full-service PR and media agency in Austin, said the award acknowledges her “remarkable contributions” and that she dedicates the award to her mother, Mrs. Pushpa Madan.

Govil emphasized “Her mother’s profound influence and unwavering inspiration throughout her journey” and attributed her success “to her mother’s legacy of core values—education, giving, and gratitude.”

Hailing from New Delhi, India, Govil noted in her statement that she “Proudly stands as the sole recipient of this prestigious award, representing not only women globally but also the Indian community and the state of Texas.”

Govil specializes in “targeting the South Asian demographic” and her expertise in franchising “extends to seminars, trade shows, and panel moderation,” said the statement. She also “guides individuals interested in franchising through discerning and choosing the perfect franchise, facilitating their journey to becoming part of a franchise organization.”
