New Delhi: Jain Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni, founder of the World Peace Center and Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti, was honored November 26, 2023, with the India Pride Award by the National Human Rights and Crime Control Bureau, NHRCCB, at the International Conference on Human Rights held at OPJ Auditorium, New Delhi for his “outstanding contribution in the field of Peace Education, Meditation and Yoga.”

Speaking at the event, Acharya Lokesh Muni said that this honor was not his. “It is an honor to the principles of Lord Mahavir and Indian culture. Lord Mahavir had discussed not only human rights but also life rights and non-living rights 2600 years ago,” a press release quoted him saying.

“There have been many such great men on this holy land of India, Lord Mahavir, Lord Buddha, Guru Nanakdev – all of them have talked about compassion and protection of living beings. We have inherited this and it is the duty of all of us to take it forward,” he added.
