Consulate officials and members of the Indian community paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his punyatithi (death anniversary), January 30, 2023, at the Indian Consulate in New York. Also present were representatives from New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ office, including Dilip Chauhan and Mayor’s Chief of Staff for International Affairs Aissata Camara.

India’s Ambassador to the U.S. also paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi in Washington, D.C.

“On his Punya Thithi, paid homage to #MahatmaGandhi Tributes to the brave freedom fighters of #India who sacrificed their lives for the nation,” Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu tweeted on the occasion.
