Federation of Indian Associations-Chicago Announces Plans For India’s Republic Day Celebrations

The Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) of Chicago, plans to celebrate India’s 72nd Republic Day in what it described as a super special way this year, with a special performance by legendary Bollywood Singer Padma Shri Kailash Kher, on Sunday, January 24th 2021 from 6pm to 8pm Central Standard Time, virtually via zoom.

“FIA-Chicago urges all to please join us in paying tribute to our country India’s freedom fighters & listening to Spiritual, Sufi & Bollywood Legendary Singer Kailash Kher,” a press release from the organization said.

Ticket Price Range: $25.00 – $50.00

Regular Ticket: $50

Senior Citizen Ticket: $25

FIA-Chicago is urging all to purchase their tickets as soon as possible, as limited seats are available.

By purchasing the tickets, you are also supporting FIA Chicago, a 501 (c)(3) status, non-profit umbrella organization of other Indian associations in the Chicagoland and Mid-West representing in excess of 300,000 culturally diverse but united together Asian-Indians, organizers said in the press release.

When asked, about the upcoming event, the Founder President of FIA-Chicago Sunil Shah said, “True, COVID-19 is still here…. but that will not stop us from celebrating our beloved motherland India’s 72nd Republic Day in a big way!”

Other dignitaries, attending, will be Governor of Illinois J.B Pritzker; U.S. Democratic Congressman of Illinois Raja Krishnamoorthi; State Senator Christina Castro; and Consul General of India, Amit Kumar.

The FIA President, Dr Kamal Patel said, “This first event of the year, FIA’s Republic Day Program, will definitely warm up the hearts of our audience, and will give us hope! Having battled with COVID-19, people want to find ways to still come together and enjoy!”

Numerous FIA volunteers and organizers and those in leadership positions in the organization are hoping for a successful event in terms of a wider reach this time, since viewers can connect and enjoy the program from virtually any part if the world.
