Being among the most-watched shows on Indian OTT, Aashram has given the industry a glimpse of the huge talent of Bobby Deol as well as of some talented supporting actors as well, among who is Aaditi Pohankar. The show’s third season launches on June 3.

The evolution of Aaditi’s role in the series has appealed to the audiences and made them shower her with love and appreciation. As Pammi, the wrestler, she has shown quite dramatic moves, from getting lost in her blind faith and devotion to Baba Nirala and then embarking on a journey to unmask his evil deeds. The role has won her encomiums galore.

Talking about her character, Aaditi said, “I am really grateful that I got to play such a powerful character in the series. I am thankful to Prakash-sir and MX Player for giving me this opportunity and putting faith in me. What helped me ace this role is that in real life also I am deeply patient and courageous. But I have also gone through a lot of injuries while shooting for Aashram,” she adds.

Aaditi was trained by professional international wrestler Sangram Singh, and she took lessons for long hours each day. “As fascinating as the role appeared to the audience, it was extremely challenging for me. Wrestling with Bobby-sir wasn’t easy, for I am half his weight. However the fun fact about wrestling with Bobby-sir was that he was more scared about doing this part than I was!”

She added, “I have gone through a lot of injuries while shooting for Aashram and I am still recovering from them! I feel each of those injuries are worth it because of the love and appreciation the series received by our audiences.”

Aaditi had her breakthrough role alongside Riteish Deshmukh in the Marathi action film, Lai Bhaari (2010). She had begun her career in theater and had her first film role in Kunasathi Kunitari, also a Marathi film. She has also starred in a Tamil film, Gemini Ganeshanum Suruli Raajanum, opposite Atharva.
