13th Annual Chicago South Asian Film Festival from Sept. 22-25

Indian and South Asian cinema is being increasingly celebrated with film festivals at many countries and centers globally. In its 13th year also is the Annual Chicago South Asian Film Festival (CSAFF), which is being held this year between September 22nd and 25th with the curtain raiser being organized on September 16 and 17.

The opening film will be Lost from India. Directed by co-written by Aniruddha Roy Pink Chowdhury, the thriller stars Yami Gautam Dhar, Rahul Khanna, Neil Bhoopalam and Pankaj Kapur with music by Shantanu Moitra.

The Centerpiece film will be Mostofa Farookhi’s No Land’s Man from Bangladesh, a US-India-Bangladesh co-production and starring Nawazuddin Siddiuqi and Megan Mitchell. The music is by A.R. Rahman.

CSAFF will end with Four Samosas from USA, which is written and directed by Ravi Kapoor and stars Venk Potula and Sonal Shah.

The festival will also feature—besides the usual Red Carpet and Meet & Greet with filmmakers and artistes, a post-film Q&A, a Filmmakers Lounge Series, a Festival After-Party, this time themed as Bollywood Night, the SAFA Award and award ceremony, and press conferences.

Yami Gautam Dhar, Rahul Khanna, Ravi Kapoor and Mostafa Farookhi will be among those attending in person, while Dia Mirza will be available virtually.
