Uttarakhand Samaj of Chicago celebrates Diwali

Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, D-Illinois, attended the celebration and congratulated the USOGC community for hosting the successful event, a press release from USOGC.

President OF USOGC Smita Pant, along with Vice President Vikram Singh Negi, Treasurer Rashmi Joshi and Secretary Mohan Rawat thanked the guests.

The event began with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony which was joined by sponsors.

The highlight of the event was the enactment of the appearance of Lord Ram and Devi Sita, followed by a dance performance.

Women members of USOGC, in traditional Uttarakhandi attire, showcased the culture of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand.

Attendees enjoyed the cuisine and the open dance floor.
