In his long era of superstardom that began in the early 1990s (Khiladi was his first hit in 1992), Akshay Kumar has always been in the forefront as one of our biggest names. This has been heightened post-2000 and his hits, Hera Pheri, Dhadkan, Ajnabee, Ek Rishtaa, Aankhen and Awara Pagal Deewana.

Even today, despite a chain of flops, he continues to be in demand and very busy. His new movie, Sky Force, will commence filming in May in London. Akshay Kumar plays an officer of the Indian Air-Force. It is a historical drama with a strong aviation theme that revisits and celebrates one of the Indian Air-Force’s greatest successes.

Only recently, in Scotland, Akshay was seen performing a bike stunt, despite an injury when shooting, for his upcoming high-octane action film, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. The video went viral, as the film sees Akshay and Tiger Shroff together for the first time. The film also features Prithviraj, Sonakshi Sinha and Manushi Chhillar in the lead, and is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.

Akshay’s other releases include OMG: Oh My God 2, his Marathi lead debut Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat, wherein he portrays Chhatrapati Shivaji, the real-life story of chief mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill in Capsule Gill and the third part of Hera Pheri.

He has among the highest scores in the 100 crore club with the movies Housefull 2, Rowdy Rathore, Holiday, Airlift, Housefull 3, Rustom, Toilet—Ek Prem Katha, Gold, Jolly LLb 2, 2.0, Simmba (in a cameo), Kesari, Housefull 4, Mission Mangal, Good Newwz, Sooryavanshi: next only to Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn.
