The inauguration included several master class sessions held by Coach Sid Lahiri (Global Head of Academy-Rajasthan Royals; Coach – Rajasthan Royals; Batting Coach – Paarl Royals; Assistant Coach – Barbados Royals) who brings vast current experience in professional coaching and operating academies, the press release from RRANJ said.

“Known as the “Team of Firsts”, Rajasthan Royals has carved a niche as the one that discovers young talent. A shining example of this being the Rajasthan Royals winning the inaugural IPL in 2008,” one of the organizers said.

The master classes provided the players an opportunity to learn from Coach Sid the “Royal Way” of playing the game. The academy coaches were also put through a day long coaches training into the “Royals Way” of coaching and playing the game. RRANJ is excited at the possibilities that can now be explored and the collaboration is looking forward to “Transforming Cricket through Innovation” and discover, develop, nurture and promote young cricketing talent in the USA.

With the burgeoning of T20 cricket, it’s shortest and most dynamic format, several professional leagues have sprung up in various countries, and cricket appears to be on a precipice of exponential growth in US. A clear indicator as the United States is co-hosting the 2024 T20 World Cup with West Indies this summer. Decades of grass-root efforts to grow the game are converging with above factors to make it into the mainstream.
