Kicking off the New Year, Disney+Hotstar has announced one of its biggest shows for 2023—The Night Manager. A high-octane thriller, the Hotstar Specials series brings together Anil Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur in what is claimed is a “gripping, layered and complex narrative.”

Created and directed by Sandeep Modi and co-directed by Priyanka Ghosh, the series is produced by The Ink Factory and Banijay Asia.

Sandeep talked of the team that helped bring his grand vision to life. “We have put together an eclectic cast and crew not just from across India but across the globe to bring forth the larger vision I have for this engaging saga,” he said. “From leading actors like Aditya Roy Kapur and the legend Anil Kapoor from the Hindi film industry, we have Sobhita Dhulipala, who has made a huge mark in the OTT world and in films down South, Tillotama Shome, who has been a breakout talent in international new-age cinema, to Saswata Chatterjee, who is a stalwart from the Kolkata film industry.”

He added, “We have an even interesting crew behind the scene – Shridhar Raghavan, the writer of some of the biggest blockbusters like War and Akshat and Shantanu, known for Badhaai Ho, writing dialogues to give the local quirk to the show, Sam C.S. from the Tamil industry, who brought us Vikram Vedha’s music score, Ben Jasper from Australia, the DOP of War and Bang Bang! and of course, Mukesh Chhabra, who is the best casting director in the country according to me.”

He goes on, “Our costume stylist, Kshitij Kankaria, is a Paris-based designer and has brought his international sensibilities and taste to our characters, and then there is Anahita Shroff-Adajania who has dressed the biggest stars of our country over the years. This is a dream cast and crew, but then I always knew that to deliver the best to the audience, we needed the best that there ever can be.”

The spy thriller will stream shortly on the platform.
