The teaser of Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue, has been unveiled. Spearheaded by Akshay Kumar, who has a history of delivering powerful bio-pics, the adventure drama is set to hit cinemas worldwide on October 6.

Mission Raniganj, originally titled Capsule Gill, showcases the real-life episode tht took place in November 1989. The story is based on the late Jaswant Singh Gill, an engineer who orchestrated and executed an audacious rescue mission, saving 65 trapped miners from a Raniganj, Dhanbad coal mine after an unexpected downpour. The real-life Gill, a resident of Amritsar, received several awards for his heroic act. He passed away at 80 in 2019, and was thus 50 at the time of the incident.

This dramatic narrative centers round Gill’s unmatched courage and his relentless push to overcome life-threatening adversities. The film’s teaser portrays a thrilling ride, amalgamating suspense, valor and an undying spirit to triumph against odds.

Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra head the cast along with Kumud Mishra, Rajesh Sharma, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Dibyendu Bhattacharya and Varun Badola.

Produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh and Jackky Bhagnani with Ajay Kapoor for Pooja Entertainment and directed by Tinu Suresh Desai (of Rustom fame), the film is written by Deepak Kingrani and Vipul K. Rawal. Vishal Mishra scores music.
