MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Nov. 11, 2021) – With the holiday season right around the corner, consumers nationwide can support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® by shopping during the annual St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign. St. Jude patient Imani, who received a cancer diagnosis at only 5 weeks old, is one of the patients featured in this year’s campaign and symbolizes many children like herself who benefit from St. Jude supporters everywhere.

In 2019, first-time parents Khurram and Sarah received the unimaginable news that their 5-week-old baby girl, Imani, had a cancerous brain tumor. Surgery was able to remove most of the tumor, and Imani received chemotherapy at St. Jude that allowed a second surgery to remove her tumor completely. Imani is now back home and got to celebrate her second Ramadan with her family.

“We were at rock bottom,” said Imani’s dad Khurram. “Now, Alhumdulillah, we are on the road to recovery. We have passed milestones we never thought we’d see.”

Thanks to generous donors through the St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

Adding a dose of holiday cheer to the campaign are Jennifer Aniston, Luis Fonsi, Yara Shahidi, Michael Strahan, and Sofia Vergara who will join St. Jude National Outreach Director Marlo Thomas to rally consumers across the country to support St. Jude while shopping and donating in-store and online.
