He’s the hottest thing going—filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli. While his fans and film buffs are eagerly awaiting his next move after RRR, one of his older Telugu films, Chatrapathi (2005), a blockbuster featuring Prabhas, Shriya Saran and Bhanupriya (who won the Nandi award for Best Supporting Actress) is now being remade in Hindi with the same title as a pan-Indian film.

Sreenivas Bellamkonda (son of producer Bellamkonda Suresh), who made his debut in the Telugu film, Alludu Seemu in 2014, makes his pan-Indian debut in the film. The Hindi version will star him as the quintessential commercial hero with emotions, romance and stunts.  It will be directed by W. Vinayak and produced by Jayantilal Gada and is releasing on May 12. Nushrratt Bharruccha is in the female lead with music by Tanishk Bagchi.

The Hindi version is being scripted by V. Vijayendra Prasad, who also co-wrote the original with Rajamouli, his son. That film had a Nandi award-winning music score by M.M. Keeravani, who has won the Oscar this year. It narrates the story of a mother (Bhanupriya), who adopts a son and gives him the same affection as her biological one. The film was dubbed in several languages, unofficially in Hindi too as Hukumat Ki Jung in 2009, and even remade in Bengali.
