Some Indian-Americans in Parsippany, New Jersey, have planned a “Meet and Greet” event and fundraiser in honor of Paul DeGroot, a Republican candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives from District 11.

The Republican primaries are scheduled to be held June 7, 2022, “and it is expected that Paul DeGroot will be the Republican nominee to take on Democratic incumbent Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill,” said an April 21 press release from supporters of deGroot.  The event is expected to be attended by the Indian- American community from Essex, Morris, and Passaic Counties.

The event is planned for April 28 starting at 6:30 p.m. at 8 Campus Drive, Parsippany, NJ 07054.

The organizers, Rajendar Dichpally, Mahender Reddy, Santosh Peddi, and Bhagwan Pingle said they hope to ensure good attendance at the event and enlist the support of the community. “District 11 has been a traditionally Republican stronghold and it is expected that with the support of the American Indian community, Paul DeGroot will be able to win back the seat for Republicans with a surprise victory in the forthcoming primary election and the then again in the November General election,” organizers said.

They described DeGroot as an advocate of parent’s rights in education, American liberty and freedom, the U.S. Constitution, energy independence, controlling inflation, and building a strong American economy that creates strong industry and good-paying jobs.

DeGroot is also “a strong proponent of LEGAL IMMIGRATION” emphasized organizers; strong measures that curb illegal immigration, strong border security, and support for senior citizens and veterans, they added.

A Chief Prosecutor for Homicide, Narcotics, and Government Corruption in Passaic County, DeGroot currently runs a successful Law Firm.
