Sam Joshi, currently the vice president of Edison City Council, announced he is exploring a big for Mayor of the city where he was born and raised.
Joshi said he has “dedicated” his life to serving the community.
“It’s been the greatest honor to serve as one of seven Council members, especially throughout the pandemic,” Joshi said in a press release.
“My impeccable outreach, constituent advocacy, history of consistently voting against property tax increases, and bringing innovative ideas to the Council is a record that I am proud of,” Joshi added.
Edison has one of the largest concentration of people of Indian origin in the nation.
Joshi said a Mayor who has a vision for the future of the community was the need of the hour in this time of immense and multiple challenges.
There are already two promising candidates in the run for this office, Thomas Lankey, the current Mayor, and Mahesh Bhagia, who is Municipal Chairman.
