Last week, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) was featured on ABC7 Chicago as part of the station’s efforts to highlight prominent members of the greater Chicago community during Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month.

Rep. Krishnamoorthi, who became the first Asian American to lead a Congressional committee last year, serves as Ranking Member of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

The profile piece, which can be viewed on abc7chicago.com, provides an in-depth look into the Congressman’s life as an immigrant from India and his high-profile position in Congress.

Krishnamoorthi is also a member of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, in addition to his role of Ranking Member of the Select Committee. He is also a member of the informal Samosa Caucus, which consists of the other four Indian Americans in Congress.
