Presented by Prime Video, Ram Setu is produced in association with Cape of Good Films, Lyca and Abundantia Entertainment. It marks Prime Video’s first entry into movie co-productions with its first Indian movie to be released in theatres (Maja Ma was streamed online).

The film, starring Akshay Kumar, is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Fans have been eagerly waiting for this action-adventure film whose first look, titled ‘First Glimpse into the World of Ram Setu’ was released recently. The film hits the screens October 25.

The craze among fans is so much that the makers have been receiving fan art, motion posters, as well as marketing ideas on Instagram and in their Twitter DMs. Keeping the curiosity high, the trailer has been praised for its never-seen-before visuals.

The story of Ram Setu revolves around an atheist archaeologist-turned-believer, Aryan Kulshrestha (Akshay Kumar), who must race against time to prove the true existence of the legendary Ram Setu before evil forces destroy this pillar of India’s heritage.

The film also stars Telugu actor Satyadev Kancharana, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Jacqueline Fernandez and M. Nasser in primary roles. Promising to be a fast-paced entertainer for the entire family and with an incredibly lavish visual scale, Ram Setu is written and directed by Abhishek Sharma (Parmanu, Tere Bin Laden).

According to a report in The Financial Express, Abhishek has been inspired to make this subject since 2007 when he became aware of a court case involving Ram Setu, and the film is touted as “a bridge between generations past, present and future” by leading man Akshay Kumar.

(In a related news, Abhishek and this film’s co-producer Mahaveer Jain will again unite for a thriller that is said to be based on the book A Nation to Protect by Priyam Gandhi Mody, which is a factual book on how prime Minister Narendra Modi inspired the nation in the fight against Covid-19.)

Ram Setu is produced by Aruna Bhatia (Cape of Good Films)—Akshay Kumar’s late mother, Vikram Malhotra (Abundantia Entertainment), Subaskaran, Mahaveer Jain, and Aashish Singh (Lyca Productions) and Prime Video, with Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi as the creative producer. Ram Setu will be distributed worldwide in theatres by Zee Studios. Ajay–Atul, Vikram Montrose, Ved Sharma and Dr. Zeus score the music.
