Priyanka Chopra Jonas supports RRR ahead of Oscars

Aside from her global assignments, from movies to launching inspirational makeup for all skin-tones, Priyanka Chopra Jonas is big on supporting the representation of Indian films on the international platform. She has always come out in support of Indian actors, filmmakers and movies on various platforms in the past.

The actress joined the team that has been at and around Los Angeles, promoting their film among Oscar voters, with the hope of scoring a nomination at the Academy Awards. She also congratulated the director and his cousin and composer, M.M. Keeravani, on their Golden Globe award for their song Naatu naatu, beating singers Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift and the recent 28th Annual Critics’ Choice awards for the Best Feature Film in a foreign language and the Best Song and even posed for photos. The actor wore a black blazer and beige pants for the occasion.

Later the generous actor took to Instagram to express her support to team RRR. She posted, “Least I can do to contribute to this incredible Indian film’s journey. Good luck and congratulations RRR, SS Rajamouli, MM Keeravani, Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Prem Rakshith (choreographer), Kala Bhairava (singer), Chandrabose (lyricist)…”

Rajamouli responded, “You are a global superwoman! Touched by your heartwarming words and intro. Thank you Priyanka for hosting our show and your kind wishes.”

The actress had earlier tweeted, “Congratulations team RRR first-ever Asian film to win a @goldenglobes for a song! Amazing win for Indian cinema!”

In her interview to the Indian media at the time of Bajirao Mastani (2015), she had always expressed great pride in the Indian film industry, our films and film people, and she has now proved it by batting for them at the Oscars, the prestigious awards in her new home country, the USA.
