Poets from India and US meet virtually for concert celebrating diversity


Renowned poets and poetry enthusiasts from around the world, including Chicago, met virtually for an poetry concert titled “Kuch Apni Kaho Kuch Mere Suno,” organized by Rakesh Malhotra and Anurag Misraraj, March 30, 2024. The event aimed at celebrating the diverse tapestry of poetry and culture while fostering unity and connection among participants and audiences, a press release from organizers said.

Talented poets from various cities, including Chicago, New York, New Jersey, in US, and from Mumbai, and Varanasi, India. They included Rakesh Malhotra, Nupur Govila, Anurag Misraraj, Anoop Bhargava, Priyanka Agnihotri and Raj Lally Batala. Shilpa Kulkarni anchored the event.

This event was sponsored by Global Indian Diaspora,  Five Global Values, Dramatech of USA, Roots to Hindi, and Eka.

“Poetry is a passion for us. Whether we are engineers, technocrats, bankers, or entrepreneurs, our love for our motherland remains young, even after living in the USA for over two decades,” Malhotra is quoted saying in the press release. “We are committed to promoting our culture, language, art, literature, and heritage through platforms like ‘Kuch Apni Kaho Kuch Mere Suno.'”

Media outlets such as Indo USA Tribune, I USA Media, and A3N Media of Chicago carried a live broadcast on Dramatech’s Facebook page during the event, attracting nearly 700 viewers who tuned in to see and hear the poetry.

“Kuch Apni Kaho Kuch Mere Suno” poetry concert was an evening of inspiration, creativity, and celebration of poetic talent, said Nupur Govila, a poet from Mumbai.

Organizers Malhotra and Misraraj are strong advocates of Indian culture and heritage globally and fostering connections among poets with diverse backgrounds.
