Parliament of World Religions remembers Gandhiji on Martyr’s Day

The Parliament of the World’s Religions based in Chicago, announced a virtual event which was held Saturday morning, January 21, 2023, organized by the Global Peace Secretariat and the World House Project at Stanford University entitled, ‘In Conversations with’ on the occasion of “75th Anniversary Martyrdom of Mahatma Gandhi (January 30th) & 73rd India’s Republic Day (January 26).”

The program is an official pre-Parliament event hosted in support of the upcoming 2023 Parliament of the World’s Religions which is scheduled to be held in Chicago starting August 14 this year.

The Jan. 21 virtual program was kicked off with ‘Vaishnav Jan to’ Gandhi ji’s favorite bhajan (spiritual song) on violin by Arun Saigal, conductor of San Francisco Civic Symphony. That was followed by a conversation with authors of Pathways of Global Transformation: Conversations with Bapu, Dr. Vedabhyas Kundu (Gandhi Smriti) and Munazah Shah Sr. News Anchor (India).

The audience then got to hear from Demitrius Barksdale, a student of the U.S. State Department Gandhi-King Scholarly Exchange Initiative ‘s inaugural batch, from University of Alabama for whom this book was written and gifted to during their recent visit to Gandhi Smriti in New Delhi.
