Leap To Shine (leaptoshine.org), a highly-rated nonprofit organization, held its annual fundraiser Sept. 16, 2023, which raised more than $110,000 to provide digital learning opportunities for children in India.

The organization ensures that 95 cents of every dollar raised goes directly toward educating children in India, a press release from the organization said. Leap to Shine provides digital tablets pre-loaded with the required curriculum, making it possible for students to access educational materials without the need for internet access. This also allows for monitoring the progress of students as it requires only a brief Wi-Fi connection once every two weeks.

One of the highlights of the Gala was a friendly dance competition, “Dancing for a Cause,” featuring 10 community leaders who partnered with professional choreographers to raise funds and awareness.

During the event, Leap to Shine bestowed the “Pride of India” honor upon individuals who have made significant contributions to society.

Those honored included Nita Sardana of Innova Solutions, Anil Damani of 27th Investments, and Chetan & Shefali Shah. “Their unwavering dedication to social causes and their impactful work were celebrated and acknowledged,” the press release said.

Gunjan Banerji of Wall Street Journal and a CNBC contributor, was among the speakers at the event.

A panel of judges evaluated the dance performances. They included Raju Sethi, Aric Diamani, and Anita Singh.

The highlight of the evening was the keynote address delivered by Keyur Shah, director at Leap to Shine. “We want to be small, but impactful,” Shah is quoted saying at the event. That statement “encapsulated the organization’s mission and commitment to making a profound difference in the lives of children through education,” the press release said.

Leap to Shine thanked all attendees, supporters, participants, and sponsors who made the Gala a “remarkable” success.

“The funds raised will go a long way in bringing quality education to underprivileged children in India and empowering them for a brighter future,” the organization said.
