Netflix launched the trailer of the whodunit, Monica O My Darling, at the Hotel J.W. Marriott on November 1. Directed by Vasan Bala and starring Rajkummar Rao, Huma S. Qureshi and Radhika Apte in pivotal roles, the neo-noir murder mystery promises humor, mystery and a spine-chilling murder.

Sikandar Kher, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, Bagavathi Perumal (making his Hindi film debut), Sukant Goel and Zayn Marie Khan star in the film, set to premiere November 11 on the platform.

Said Vasan Bala, “I am excited to give the audience a glimpse into the world of Monica O My Darling and be a part of this dark-humored crime mystery. I cannot wait for the audience to see what a fabulous job the cast has done, and it’s been a terrific ride collaborating with Matchbox Shots, who have been absolutely superb and I always look forward to working with Netflix and creating ground-breaking, binge-worthy content.”

Adding to that, Matchbox Shots producer, Sanjay Routray, said, “The movie casts an absurd gaze at the world, very much in the tradition of our previous release, Sriram Raghavan’s AndhaDhun. We have thoroughly enjoyed every step of the process, diving deep into each character’s psyche. Partnering with Vasan Bala and collaborating with Netflix have both been deeply rewarding and we cannot wait for the audience to be as captivated!”

Monika Shergill, VP-Content, Netflix India, said, “Monica O My Darling is a fast-paced whodunit that blends thriller and comedy, making it supremely entertaining for our members. Vasan Bala’s unique style of storytelling, complemented with the ensemble cast of Radhika Apte, Rajkummar Rao and Huma S. Qureshi creates an unforgettable world of mystery, humor and nostalgic music. Monica O My Darling will keep the viewers at the edge of their seats with its dark and devilish twists and turns.”

Sarita Patil, Sanjay Routray and Dikssha J. Routray produce the film written by Yogesh Chandekar. Achint Thakkar scores music.

At the press conference, some games were played on stage and also with the audience having to guess truths and lies about the team members on stage. Present also was Sriram Raghavan, who was an inspiration behind this film and also suggested the title from the iconic song from the 1971 Caravan.
