Kadva Patidar community holds Navratri celebrations in Bartlett, Ill

The community organization Kadwa Patidar Samaj of Chicago held Navratri Garba Night in Bartlett Park District, Bartlett, Illinois, Sept. 24, 2022.

More than 300 people participated in the joyful event. There was a Live DJ and Rinki Talati and Parth Patel performed one clap-two clap garba and many garba and raas tunes related to Umiya Mataji, the deity worshiped by this community.

Mataji’s palanquin was elaborately decorated and placed in the center of the mandap.

All attendees had to be wearing a wristband to be allowed in. Volunteers Harmil Patel, Satish Patel, Narendra Patel, Rajesh Desai, Vijay Patel, Deepak Patel, Tejsh Patel, Selesh Patel worked hard to make the program a success.

At 7:30 pm, the Navratri Garba began with the lamp-lighting ceremony conducted by Chotu Patel, Chotalal Patel, Mitha  Patel, and Jayanti Patel. Maha Aarti was performed.

Jigar’s Kitchen supplied the food for the event.
