Jailer is a true pan-Indian film as it has pan-Indian cast

As the hype around “Pan-Indian Cinema” is maintained despite several failures and few successes, we come now to yet another pan-India labeled film—Rajinikanth’s Jailer. The difference is that this film actually has a pan-Indian cast that is expected to pull in crowds from across the country.

Action films have been at the helm of global cinema in 2023, like Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning – Part One and more. The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial Jailer is expected to join their ranks.

The film follows the story of Muthuvel Pandian, a strict yet compassionate jailor who learns that a gang is trying to rescue their leader from prison, and he sets out to stop them.

Here is a regional breakup of its cast!

Rajinikanth – Tamil Cinema

Having a career span of over 50 years, Rajinikanth is a mega-star in Tamil cinema. He has also worked in films across Telugu, Hindi, Bengali and Malayalam cinema. Rajinikanth essays the title role here. But naturally.

Shiva Rajkumar – Kannada Cinema

Having over three decades of work across varied Indian languages, Shiva Rajkumar has done over 125 Kannada films. He will be making his Tamil debut with Jailer, his first collaboration with Rajnikanth. As per reports, Shiva will be playing the lead antagonist.

Mohanlal – Malayalam Cinema

Mohanlal, the most celebrated superstar icon of the Malayalam film industry, plays another important role. As per sources, Mohanlal will have a special cameo that will be a significant part of the climax.

Sunil – Telugu Cinema

Sunil, the versatile Telugu actor, plays a pivotal role in this thriller. In the first look of the film, the actor is sporting a retro look. His character is yet to be revealed.

Jackie Shroff – Hindi Cinema

Jackie Shroff will be reuniting with Rajinikanth 36 years after Uttar Dakshin in Jailer. It is said that he too will play an antagonist in the film, but he is also a jailor. In his career of over four decades, Jackie has appeared in over 220 films across 13 languages and truly is a pan-Indian star.

Ramya Krishna, Mirna Menon and Tamannaah Bhatia are in the female leads. The film has music by Anirudh Ravichander scores music for the Sun Pictures movie produced by Kalanithi Maran.
