Indo-American Festivals postpones Dussehra festival to October 8

Indo American Festivals, Inc. (IAF) will now be hosting its Annual Grand Dushahra Festival (dushahra.com) on October 8, 2022 (1 PM to 8 PM) at Lake Papaianni Park in Edison (100 Municipal Blvd.), New Jersey. The event was originally scheduled for October 1, 2022, but it had to be rescheduled because of inclement weather, organizers said in a press release.

“Please join us to witness a dazzling Ramleela by Varsha Naik’s group and cultural program by Pratibha that will culminate with Ravan Dahan (burning of a 25-foot-tall effigy of Ravan – built in the U.S. by Krishna Singhal),” organizers appealed to attendees. The event includes a free health/ medical screening camp organized by the Agarwal Samaj of the USA, Meena Bazar, Arts & Crafts, and much more.

This program is made possible in part by a grant from the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders/Office of Culture & Heritage, and New Jersey State Council for Arts/Department of State.

Indo-American Festivals Inc (IAF) IAF is a non-profit volunteer organization founded by the Late Mangal Gupta in 1999 to celebrate Dushahra in New Jersey.

The events generally attract more than 10,000 spectators every year, organizers said. It is free to the public, and activities are managed solely through sponsorships and donations of from patrons and members of IAF, the press release said.
