The American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin have urged President Donald Trump to enhance the existing national registry of COVID-19 patients who have recovered to collect plasma that could held with treatment of those infected.

In an April 9, 2020 letter (  Letter to Hon President On Plasma) drew attention to studies that have shown benefits of using this convalescent plasma from recovered patients in fighting viral infections, especially if used in the early stages of the onset of the disease. The AAPI asked for wide application of plasma to patients and facilitating the shortening of time required to get permission to give the treatment.
