Film industry extends support to ABTYP’s mega-blood donation drive on social media

Renowned celebrities from films, sports and business fraternities have always been known to be an instrumental force in supporting noble causes, philanthropic work and charitable activities.

The film industry has now stepped out to assume responsibility and contribute in their own ways. From Janhvi Kapoor to Ananya Panday, and from Arjun Kapoor to Bhumi Pednekar and Tamannaah Bhatia, they have all come forward to support the Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad (ABTYP)’s Mega Blood Donation Drive (MBDD) – a simultaneous nationwide collection on September 17.

Ahead of the blood donation drive, several celebs have come forward to extend support to the drive on social media. They have expressed their gratitude for being part of such a philanthropic activity and urged everyone to join the cause. Sonu Sood, Vidyut Jammwal, Boney Kapoor, Aanand L. Rai, Bipasha Basu, Raveena Tandon Thadani, Tusshar, Karan Kundra and others tweeted and shared stories on social media in support of the campaign, and showed eagerness to support the event on PM Shri Narendra Modi’s birthday.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra tweeted, “On the occasion of Hon PM’s birthday, let’s join forces with this noble initiative: ‘#RaktdaanAmritMahotsav’… world’s biggest blood donation drive: http://eraktkosh.in #SevaAndGratitude #HappyBirthdayPM #ChangeWithin #ABTYP  @MoHFW_INDIA @PMOIndia @iMdonatingBlood “

Sanjay Dutt shared a post, saying, “Honoured and proud to be associated with an initiative as noble and massive as #RaktdaanAmritMahotsav, on the occasion of PM Modi’s birthday. I request all of you to come forward in huge numbers to join hands in ensuring safe availability of regular non-remunerated blood opportunities and bring a #ChangeWithin.”

The MBDD is getting bigger with every passing day as a lot of celebrities have joined the noble cause. In the past, notable names like Rajinikanth, Shah Rukh Khan, Chiranjeevi, R. Madhavan, Vaani Kapoor and Raveena Tandon Thadani have also supported the cause.

Vivek Oberoi, Bhagyashree, Abhimanyu Dassani, Anuradha Paudwal, Sunil Grover, Abhijeet and Shailesh Lodha (Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma fame) had also supported the noble mission of ABTYP and have wholeheartedly joined the cause of creating awareness around the nationwide organization of MBDD. They are urging people to come forward in huge numbers and support it and thereby creating impact in 20 states, 1000 cities with 2000 camps along with the combined efforts of more than 25000 volunteers, many NGOs and the government’s support.

Not just in India, the MBDD will take place simultaneously in 27 other countries in Asia and South Africa on September 17, thus encouraging the most massive blood donation of all time.
