New York: The Chaar Prahar Music Festival, now in its fourth year, is already building a legacy of presenting emerging artists alongside the legends on one stage. This year the festival will be held at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theater at Symphony Space with headlining artist sitar virtuoso Ustad Nishat Khan, the doyen of the Imdad Khan Gharana, accompanied by tabla maestro Pandit Abhijit Banerjee. The opening performance will be a unique jugalbandhi presentation showcasing Hindustani and Carnatic music. Award winning Hindustani violinist Indradeep Ghosh and ace Carnatic Bansuri artist Raman Kalyan will engage in a musical dialogue. They will be accompanied by Nitin Mitta on Tabla and Sriram Raman on mridangam.

December 9th – Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theater at Symphony Space: Chaar Prahar Indian Classical Music Festival featuring Ustad Nishat Khan – Sitar and Pandit Abhijit Banerjee – Tabla at 8:15 PM. Raman Kalyan – Carnatic Flute, Sriram Raman – Mridangam, Indradeep Ghosh – Hindustani Violin and Nitin Mitta – Tabla in a Hindustani-Carnatic jugalbandi at 6:30 PM.
