Ekal Chicago hosts The Future of India gala in Naperville, IL

Ekal Vidyalaya, Chicago hosted “The Future of India” Gala on Sunday October 8, 2023 at Marriott Naperville, IL.

The Ekal Chicago team, led by Kamlesh Shah, planned the successful event, from meals served to the gala details, a press release from the organization said.

A number of Ekal team members provided details on various Ekal initiatives in the course of the evening.

Shah, chairman of Ekal USA, along with Dina Shah welcomed everyone and elaborated on the purpose of the event.

Nishendu Baxi and Purvi Baxi talking about goals and missions of Ekal and thanked the sponsors and donors.

The master of ceremony was Ranjini Saigal who kept the entire event moving smoothly with her humor and eloquence.

The guest speakers at the gala were eminent physician and community leader Dr. Bharat Barai, India’s Consul General in Chicago Somnath Ghosh, Indian actor Vivek Oberoi, and Ekal supporter Adish Jain and his wife. Lalan Sharma from Ekal India also attended the event in person.

From Stand-Up comedy to dance performances and melodious singing program a variety of acts were presented by Mudra Dance Academy along with the musical team featuring Pural Lal Vyas, Manmeet Kaur and other talented artists.

Ekal’s vision is empowering rural India’s ‘Changemakers’ by bringing literacy, healthcare, and economic prosperity to remote villages.

With education as its flagship program, Ekal is expanding towards integrated village development with initiatives for digital literacy, women’s empowerment, health services, sustainable agriculture, jobs and skills training, the press release noted.

The organization is a trusted international network of 400,000 volunteers, trying to bring Ekal closer to realizing a goal of 36,000 integrated villages by 2030.
