Ongoing New York Auto Show 2023 stars the latest electric vehicles

The New York International Auto Show 2023, opened to the public April 7 and was scheduled to continue till April 16, offering car enthusiasts a bevy of beauties, especially in the line of electric vehicles (EVs) that all leading manufacturers featured at the Jacob Javits Center.

At the inauguration ceremony April 7, Comedian Tracy Morgan led an indoor parade of the hottest new cars and trucks; the cast of the upcoming award-winning ‘Back to the Future’ Broadway musical popped out of the iconic DeLorean’s gullwing door; the U.S. Marine Corps brass band played; and the belle of the 2023 Oscars, teen design sensation Bed Sty’s Amira Dior, helped transport the crowd Back to the Future.

The indoor vehicle parade featured a range of high-performance sports cars, vintage automobiles, custom rides and whisper quiet electric vehicles, a press release from organizers said. The 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing Band provided musical entertainment and performed the National Anthem. Local First Responders from NYPD, FDNY, and EMS were honored for the first time at the Show, in the “First Responders Day” held April 12.

ITV Gold’s Syed Faizan Hussain covered the show, (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QX30Akxm8gE) highlighting the new and exciting lineup from manufacturers like Ford with its Broncos and the Mustang Dark Horse, and the Mustang GTA 2024, the 7th and last edition of the popular car; Nissan’s green leather interior, 8 speed, GTR T-Spec, the Lexus RZ- all electric, which representatives at the Show told ITV Gold was like a feeler put out to test the waters for such a vehicle. Not least was the impressive Chevrolet’s 2024 E-Ray Corvette. Toyota’s BZ 4X, all-electric, mass-produced small car, also attracted attention from the crowd. The renowned manufacturer which began hybrid cars many years ago.

In the days before the Show opened to the public, Hyundai revealed its IONIQ 5 Disney100 Platinum concept car. This manufacturer’s IONIQ 6 was honored by World Car Awards at the Show. The Electrified Streamliner is the second straight Hyundai IONIQ model to sweep three major World Car Awards, a press release from the Show noted.

Prior to the Show opening, Kia achieved an outstanding result in this year’s World Car Awards, with the Kia EV6 GT being crowned the 2023 World Performance Car.
