The New Jersey chapter of World Vegan Vision organized a ‘Health is Wealth’ community event on March 3, 2019 at the FairBridge Hotel & Conference Center in Somerset, N.J. The sold-out event was attended by more than 165 people despite the impending snow storm and was a “huge success”, organizers said in a press release.

The highlight was a lecture by the president of World Vegan Vision, New Jersey Chapter Dr. Shrenik Shah, on controlling incurable diseases by following a vegan diet. Dr. Shah is an internist physician who has been practicing from more than 3 decades . He gave reasons why and how plant-based foods help make the human body function at its best, and why animal derived foods may be harmful, the press release said.

One of the women present at the event, Saima (last name not given), shared her experience of being a drug free type I diabetic who used to take a dozen different medications per day, just by following a strictly plant based diet. A couple of members of the audience pledged to try a vegan diet to improve their health, organizers said.

Two important delegates from the Bhakti Vedants Institute of Spiritual And Cultural Science based in Princeton, N.J., also shared their views.

A vegan dinner was catered by Bombay Caterers based on the menu created by Nitin Vyas, director at World Vegan Vision who has extensive experience in the restaurant industry and in creating Vegan, Kosher, Jain and other menus.

Avinash Kachhy was the World Vegan Vision administrative and Web consultant.

The task of registration was conducted by Neetu Jindal. Vinod Shah, director of planning, welcomed guests, and Debol Gupta gave the vote of thanks. Entertainment was provided by Karizma Entertainment Group.

More of these educational and entertaining events are planned for this year, the press release said. World Vegan Vision will be hosting a conference with Bhakti Vedanta Institute of Spiritual And Cultural Science in June, 2019.
