Vadtal Dham Temple in Somerset, NJ, celebrates Hanuman Jayanti

The Vadtal Dham temple in Somerset, New Jersey, held Ramnavami celebrations April 16, 2022, attracting scores of devotees with their families.

“Today we are celebrating here at Vadtal Dham in Somerset, NJ the utsav of Hanuman Jayanti. To celebrate we are having a yagna outdoors,” noted Mrugesh Patel, one of the organizers. The gathering also held birthday celebrations – Ramnavami and Hari Jayanti at the temple, dates for which fell in the week before. There was also an Annakoot in the mandir following that.

Pujari Ram Swami told ITV Gold, “So here at the Vadtal Dham in Somerset, New Jersey, we have organized a Maruti Yagna to appease Hanumanji and to pray for the happiness of all beings. Close to 100 families are participating in this outdoor yagna.”

“At the same time, we will also have a yagna of the ‘Sahjanand Beej Mantra’ made by our Swaminarayan ‘Sant’ Gopalandji. It is perhaps the first time that a yagna with the Beej Mantra is taking place in the U.S., and a lot of people are going to participate,” Pujari Ram Swami said.

He added that the temple celebrates all religious Hindu and Swaminarayan festivals at the temple every Saturday evening. On April 16, the Annakoot Utsav celebrated the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Ram, Bhagwan Swaninarayan, and Hanumanji, the priest informed, adding that all present at the event participate in that.

There are other educational activities at the temple. “We teach Swaminarayan religious music and the Vedic education.  Python and Vedic education,” Pujari Ram Swami said.

“Thus, the community in this neighborhood participates and benefits from religious and social events we organize. May Bhagwan Ram, Hanumanji and Swaminarayanji protect and bless everyone. After the yagna, a celebration inside the temple. Temple committee members urged the public to bring their children to participate in the educational activities of the temple for kids ages 1 to 15 years. “Please do bring your kids to educate them for the advanced study of mathematics, English and our Gujarati language. Bring them to the temple. Come with your family and you will have fun, and so will the children. Thank you,” said Mukesh Papaiya, another temple organizer.
