Saif Ali Khan wraps up Vikram Vedha’s second schedule in Lucknow

Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Reliance Entertainment, in association with Friday Filmworks and S. Sashikanth’s  YNOT Studios’ present their action-packed thriller, Vikram Vedha, the remake of the Southern hit. It has concluded its second filming schedule spanning 19 days in Lucknow with Saif Ali Khan. Khan has shot the adrenaline-pumping action sequences himself.

The film stars Hrithik Roshan also with Khan in lead roles, with Radhika Apte in a crucial role. Pushkar & Gayatri, the original writers and directors, are donning the director’s hats for the Hindi remake as well.

Bhushan Kumar, chairman and managing director, T-Series, says, “The anticipation grows as the film shoot progresses. Hrithik and Saif on the big screen will be a sight to behold. This will undoubtedly be the most eagerly anticipated release of 2022.” Incidentally, the two leading men come together after Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, released in 2002.

Shibasish Sarkar, co-producer, adds, “As we wrap up the second schedule of Vikram Vedha, we are happy that the film is proceeding as planned and in accordance with all government protocols. Each completed schedule is another significant milestone for the film. I am really looking forward to the film getting into excellent shape as it proceeds, and releasing it to viewers all over the world.”

Vikram Vedha is presented by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series Films and Reliance Entertainment in association with Neeraj Pandey’s Friday Filmworks and YNOT Studios. The film will hit the big screens globally Sep. 30, 2022.

The 2017 neo-noir Tamil film Vikram Vedha starred R. Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi. The actioner starred the former as a police inspector named Vikram, while Sethupathi played Vedha, a gangster and drug smuggler. Roshan will play Vedha, a role earlier offered to Aamir Khan.

Vikram Vedha is inspired by the Indian folktale Baital Pachisi, best known across India as Vikram Betaal. The film tells the story of Vikram, a cop who sets out to track down and kill Vedha, a gangster. After Vedha voluntarily surrenders, he tells Vikram three stories that change his perceptions of good and evil. The original film, also starring Shraddha Srinath, was produced by S. Sashikanth.
