On April 22 at Baisaran, called “mini-Switzerland” near Pahalgam, 24 Hindu tourists, 1 Christian and a local Kashmiri Muslim were shot in cold blood.

Film denizens expressed outrage and shock at the senseless carnage. Anupam Kher led the industry by stating, “Hindus have been killed one after the other. I do feel sad and there is no limit to my anger and rage. Sometimes words are incomplete and meaningless because what you are feeling is too much. I would request…the entire government to teach these terrorists a lesson that they will not be able to do such a thing for the next seven lives…Words are impotent today!”

Contrary to perception among a few, even the three Khans expressed strong views.

This is not a tragedy we can move past from. This heinous attack should shake the conscience of humanity. This will haunt us for a long time. To those grieving, displaced, mourning, and living in fear, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I’m so deeply anguished by this.”
