Online joint discourse on eve of the Paryushan festival

A discourse was held across continents on the eve of the Jain spiritual festival of Paryushan that began Aug. 23, 2022, and seeks to attain self-purification and awakening.

It was led by – Founder of Vishwa Bharti, Acharya Lokeshji from Seattle, United States, and Jeeto Jio Prerak Ganivarya Nayapadmasagarji from Mumbai, India, a press release from organizers said.

The 8-day discourse cycle was inaugurated by Jain Chartered Accountants Federation on what is considered most important festival of Jainism, Paryushan Mahaparva.

Lokeshji said that Paryushan is a great spiritual festival of self-purification and awakening of inner powers, during which devotees must make efforts to encourage and awaken their inner powers with the purification of their souls through various rituals of austerity, chanting, meditation, silent, self-cultivation.

Appreciating the efforts of Padmasagarji for setting up many philanthropic organizations like Jain Chartered Account Federation, Jeeto and Jio, he said he felt that in America after the Covid pandemic, Lord Mahavir’s philosophy and Jain lifestyle have spread all over the world. “There has been an increase in people’s attraction towards the Jain lifestyle,” Lokeshji said, urging people to make Jain lifestyle part of the daily routine.

Padmasagar ji said that Paryushan is a holy festival of self-realization and self-purification. “We should celebrate this great festival with faith and devotion,” he said.

He spoke about the Jain philosophy and Lord Mahavir Vaani and the efforts of Lokeshji to spread Indian culture worldwide.

He also approved the August 27 Bhagwan Mahavir Janma Kalyanak program organized by the Seattle Jain Sangh under the guidance of Acharya Lokeshji.

Nihal Chand Ji Jain Bagrecha on behalf of the Jain Sangh Seattle expressed his gratitude. The press release said on behalf of Jain Chartered Accountants Federation, Dr. Deepti CA, Amrit (no last name given), and Kochhar (full name not given) introduced Lokeshji and Padmasagar ji and gave information about JCAF.
