Sharad Shah said, “The Foundation has provided vital aid after more than 15 disasters; however, we have never faced such deep sorrow as a nation. The Foundation’s approach to relief work is to support people who are suffering, those in grief, and those who need us the most.”

Share & Care has decided to continue on the same path following the latest terror attack. The organization laid out certain steps in its press release, as the first responses it is undertaking:

  • Share & Care members will be requested to hold a candlelight vigil at their homes this weekend in respect and honor of those lost in this tragedy. Members will invite friends, neighbors, and Share & Care well-wishers to participate.
  • As Share & Care has undertaken projects in almost all the states of India, it will contact local NGOs who are in touch with affected families and deliver a letter conveying SCF’s condolences as moral support.
  • It will communicate with the Consul General of India to express its grief and solidarity with India and the families of those affected and discuss how it can be of meaningful help.
  • It will contact members of the Advisory Board, including Padma Shri recipient and Chairman of Parikh Worldwide Media Dr. Sudhir Parikh, , and H. R. Shah, to convey its  feelings to their audience through the press. Amar Shah and Dr. Manoj Desai will follow up.
  • Committee members are required to monitor the situation and brief the committee regularly.
  • Ketki Shah will contact a partner NGO that has committed to working in the Kashmir area to assess the situation and keep communication lines open in case needs arise.
  • Share & Care will keep patrons and well-wishers informed through its media channels.

“Share & Care has always stood with people through their sorrow. Even though this tragedy is different from those we have normally faced in the past, we will not deviate, as many people are affected directly or indirectly. We must remain vigilant and stand ready to help as the situation unfolds,” the organization said in its press release.
