New Jersey businessman Bipin Patel holds Annual Medical Camp in India

Bipin Patel, an Indian-American businessman from New Jersey, recently held the fifth medical camp in Kosamadi Ankleshwar, Bharush District , approximately 60 kilometers north of Surat and 90 kilometers south of Baroda, in Gujarat.

The Camp was held in association with Psychological Development and Mental Health Foundation, Navin Patel and Vashram Makvana, a press release from Patel’s organization said.

Services at the Camp were provided by a team of 35 doctors, nurses, and staff brought from Surat Civil Hospital, The physicians incluced a cardiologist, Orthopedic specialist, ophthalmologist, Pediatricians, Gynecologist and Cancer Specialist.

An estimated 1,147 people took advantage of this Camp; 246 eye glasses were given. Also, 67 cataract surgeries will be performed at Ahmedabad and Baroda Hospitals in the following weeks paid by Patel, the press release said.

A pharmacy was set up on site to provide more than 50 types of medicines plus additional supplements over and above those that were prescribed.

Prescription were also provided to many patients with dermatological problems.

Patel holds this camp every year around his birthday. His son, Amit, and his daughter Payal have taken an active part in his initiative. Amit Patel travelled to India for the Camp. And Amit along with his sister, Payal, have formed an organization called “Health Reach India” for this cause which they are planning to continue in coming years.
