The Telugu drama comedy film, Good Luck Sakhi, will stream on Amazon Prime Video on February 12 in more than 240 countries and territories. Starring Keerthy Suresh, Aadhi Pinisetty and Jagapathi Babu, it had been recently released in theaters. Written and directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, the film will be available in Telugu, Malayalam and Tamil. Devi Sri Prasad scores music.

Good Luck Sakhi is a story about a happy-go-lucky girl Sakhi Pamar (portrayed by Keerthy Suresh), who hails from the Banjara tribe in the Rayalaseema region. Nicknamed ‘Bad Luck Sakhi’ by those around her, the villagers consider Sakhi’s presence as a bad omen in any given situation. Following the accidental death of her fiancé just before their wedding, Sakhi begins to train as a sharpshooter.

A colonel (Jagapathi Babu) arrives in the village, hunting for a promising shooter whom he wishes to prep for the bigger stage. Sakhi has a gift for aiming targets that makes her a natural in shooting. How far will Sakhi fly under the guidance of the Colonel?

A very interesting trivia here is that Nagesh originally wrote the script of this film for his idol, director Hrishikesh Mukherjee. 15 years later, the NRI filmmaker (He moved to Atlanta in 1988, and did his Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology) marks his Telugu debut with this film. Nagesh hails from Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh and has made English, Hinglish and Hindi films, including the acclaimed Hyderabad Blues, Dor, Iqbal and Dhanak) and the web series, Mayanagri—City of Dreams.
