MoU signed between Sakha Republic (Yakutia) Russia and International Business Forum of Ahmedabad

The Government of Sakha Republic (Yakutia) of Russia held a fruitful meeting with the International Business Forum of India. The meeting aimed to explore new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries amidst the rapidly changing international political dynamics.

The meeting was attended by 12 representatives of the Government of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Russia, including representatives of the Consulate General of Russia in India and seven officials of the International Business Forum.

The Government of Sakha Republic (Yakutia) of Russia was represented by Kim Borisov (Deputy Chairman of the Government of Sakha Republic (Yakutia) and Permanent Representative to the Far Eastern Federal District), Gavril Kirillin (Minister for External Relations and Ethnic Affairs of Sakha Republic (Yakutia)), Ms. Antonina Grigorieva (MP) and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Science and Education of the State Assembly of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia). The dialogue program organized by the International Business Forum, an organization associated with India’s foreign trade interests, was attended by Hiren Gandhi (Secretary), Dharmendra Joshi (CEO), Digant Sompura (Global Affairs), Jashwant Singh Sagar (Senior Officer).

Among the main issues discussed with the Sakha Republic, the focus was on strengthening economic relations between India and the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), which included extensive discussions on multiple sectors such as oil, gas and natural energy, diamonds, gems and coal, logistics, ports and warehousing.

The initiatives included in the discussions were expeditious visa procedures and simplification of work permits, promotion of tourism and cultural exchange programs. A special Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the International Business Forum and the Sakha Republic. In order to formalize the commitment to enhance bilateral trade and cooperation, both sides agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) and the International Business Forum. The MoU will focus on agriculture, diamonds, gems, oil and natural gas, fertilizers, tourism and cultural exchanges, education programs – cooperation between petroleum universities, management institutes in Ahmedabad and four medical universities in Russia, and will focus on development in these areas. Both sides expressed optimism about promoting strong economic, educational and cultural ties.
