In a landmark moment for music, over 30 of the nation’s most celebrated musical voices—and more will be joining—came together to launch Goongoonalo, India’s first artiste-led, artiste-owned cultural ecosystem, at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai on May 5.

Founded by Javed Akhtar, composer Shankar Mahadevan and technologist Sridhar Ranganathan and led by CEO Sherley Raju Singh, Goongoonalo offers a new sanctuary where artistes and fans unite as family. The platform blends original content, unreleased classics, lyrical intimacy, mentorship and direct fan engagement, challenging the algorithm-driven status quo with a more human, soulful approach to music and creativity.

A first-of-its-kind artist collective, Goongoonalo is a multidisciplinary platform uniting music, poetry and storytelling. From Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal, Arijit Singh and Hariharan, to lyricists and composers like Prasoon Joshi, Sameer Anjaan, Vishal Dadlani and Amit Trivedi, the founding community spans genres, generations and languages.
